It was the moment under the arclights, how many auto rickshaw drivers would have ever dreamt of taking Hollywood's alpha couple Angellina Jolie and Brad Pitt for a spin and fans chasing them?
Pune, India, The couple are here to shoot for a movie 'A mighty Heart' a film on American journalist Daniel Pearl.
As reported by Gitesh Shelke Times of India, the rickshaw- driver Arif Mohammed Hussain Bohri ( 27 ) said he arrived at Le Meridian on sunday 8th Oct to drop a couple who wanted to see a " film shooting at the hotel"
"As soon as I dropped them, a hotel employee asked me to bring my auto rickshaw to the basement. All he would say was that my rickshaw was needed for 15 minutes, " Arif said.
Arif noticed that the basement was screened with tarpaulin, but he had not inkling that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, with their son Maddox in tow, would hop in," The hotel employee told me to take the couple around the Camp area", he said.
Arif was taken aback when around 50 people with cameras surrounded the vehicle as he left the hotel. Thinking there was something fisy about his rickshaw, he accelerated and sped off towards Camp. Soon cameramen on two bikes and some in a car closed in and started taking pictures of his passengers. Arif said he had to jump the different traffic signal to escape the frenzied mediapersons. Later the passenger asked me to take them back to the hotel' said Arif.
The mystery cleared upon his return to the hotel basement. A hotel employee told me " This couple is as famous around the world as Amitabh Bachchan is in India, they are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie".
Arif cannot fortet Pitt Patting him on the back, saying " very nice man, nice driver." and the reward for the ride was good too- a crisp Rupees 500 note given by the hotel employee. " Otherwise this ride would have not cost more than Ruppes 60 " said Arif.
