Male nudes are the norm in Greek art, even though historians have stated that ancient Greeks kept their clothes on for the most part. New research suggests that art might have been imitating life more closely than previously thought.

Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate people those having the perceptions to appreciate these things. My own view; if the images are artistic it does not interfere with the beauty. Greek art bring us more closure to the reality of life and human civilization. We should preserve these art, this would be my message through this post.

I've always wondered why they're naked in statues and paintings, I think it's beautiful though and it seems that people were much more open minded in those days! x

nothing wrong with nudity, especially in Greece.
I was on Paros once on a secluded beach when a small fishing boat pulled up not far from us but still a discrete distance full of men and young guys.
They stripped naked and then posed briefly on the rocks before diving into the sea, They were just there for the swim and it was great to see how natural they all were about bathing.Greek art , on the spot .
