Nepal will host the first gay & lesbian film festival. Sexual minorities The Blue Diamond Society (formed in 2001 after many criticism) will organize the film festival; the film festival is scheduled to start from May 17-and will end on May 20th.
Metis gay men who dressed as women will screen fourteen Films, from various countries, before the festival wind up with a beauty pageant. There are many entries from different countries including Indian film Sridhar Ramgayan's Gulabi Aina, (the 2003 film about two drag queens that was refused a certificate by the Indian Censor Board in 2003) & and also Mira Nair's Salaam Bombay.
Kollywood, Nepal's Film Industry is yet to make a full-fledged feature film on gay issues. Tulsi Ghimire will be the chief guest the lone Nepali director who made a film with a minor homosexual character. The Canadian Director Paul Lee with his 94 musical on homophobia, Thick Lips, Thin Lips will be another guest.
So far there is only documentary from Nepal is Astitva Ki Khoj by former new anchor Dil Bhushan Pathak that looks at the life of the Gay Community in Nepal, including assaults on them by police, however the Maoists are always threatening and opposing the homosexuality in Nepal.

Really?!!!Lets hope they don't have problems, but there must be always a first time...is in May,... can be cancelled, Police can beat them, etc. we'l see.As they are humans and bcz so have their rights, i hope they do it if it let them happy.
