Every visitor to India should be aware that this kind of public display of affection (or should I say affectation?) is going to offend somebody. India has come a long way (Bollywood movies are getting more and more racy) but Richard Gere should really show more respect!

Embarrassing or what!! I remember a prog on tv about the Dalai Lama, and Richard Gere was out there during the making off it but not part of it. The woman making the prog tried to get an interview with him and was told in no uncertain turns to get lost, and that's putting it politely, the Dalai Lama on the other hand was the soul of courtesy...hmmm and Gere's a practicing Buddhist as well..not sure how dedicated he is after both these incidences...
